You'll be immediately struck by the charm of the capital of Georgia-the capital city Tbilisi-by its beauty even before reaching your hotel after transfer. Here you have a good opportunity to relax and get acquainted with the city's vernal atmosphere. Then visit the beautiful Old Town of Tbilisi. Discover the Narikala Fortress and panoramic views of the whole city-including the outstanding Sulfur Baths. Along with all this, explore historic landmarks of the city for a traditional Georgian dinner in one of the many places near you. Khachapuri (cheese-filled bread) and Khinkali, with the town's vibes moving on the streets, might bring some light to Tbilisi's nightlife.

Dive into the heart that beats culturally and historically within Tbilisi. Spend your morning visiting Holy Trinity Cathedral (Sameba), an impressive example of Georgian architecture, being one of the largest Orthodox churches worldwide. Visit the thoroughfares like Rustaveli Avenue and Freedom Square and take a deviation to Georgian National Museum to gain insight into the exciting history and ancient civilization of Georgia. Afternoon Visit the Metekhi Church with its scenic views of the Mtkvari River or- in case of fresh water- you can even take a boat along the river. In a more relaxed way, drive up from the Tbilisi Funicular to Mtatsminda Park for panoramic views of the whole city. Afternoon during the evening, you could keep on trying some Georgian delicacies and driving through the cafés and bars of the city.

Today, you are going to leave the capital and head out on an excursion for culture around Mtskheta, the former capital of Georgia, located some 20 minutes north of Tbilisi. First, visit the Jvari Monastery and enjoy panoramic views of Mtskheta with a confluence of Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then go on in the morning to the magnificent Svetitskhoveli Cathedral where lies the cloak of Christ, one of the most sacred Georgian pilgrimage places. On to Uplistsikhe, an ancient rock-hewn town, in the afternoon. The caves and tunnels date back to the 6th century BC. The place offers a glimpse into ancient Georgian life with lots of pagan temples, a theater, and even a rock-carved church. After the activities on day 3, return to Tbilisi to have a relaxing evening.

Today you will take the drive to the Caucasus Mountains for Kazbegi, also known commonly as Stepantsminda - a very small town, but well situated in the shadow of Georgia's highest peak: Mount Kazbegi. The drive to Kazbegi is wonderful, and you will have a stop-off on the way to view one of Georgia's rather fabulous castles, the Ananuri Fortress located over the Zhinvali Reservoir. The fort will offer dramatic views of the surrounding mountains and is a great place to take a photograph. From Kazbegi, you will be taken on a jeep tour to the Gergeti Trinity Church, which stands so elegantly perched on a hill overlooking the valleys all around and Mount Kazbegi in the background. It is one of the most picturesque places Georgia has to offer and is well worth a visit. Later, relax and enjoy a hearty meal at a local guesthouse, where you can enjoy regional specialties whilst gazing out over breath-taking mountain scenery.

From Kazbegi on Day 5, make your way through the Great Caucasus mountains to Gudauri - it is a large ski resort area. Enjoy skiing or snowboarding if your visit coincides with winter or simply enjoy the beautiful alpine scenery; after a short stopover, continue your journey to the Kakheti region, Georgia's wine country. The other specialty of Kakheti is the land and vineyards, and you experience it all while visiting Sighnaghi, a popularly known "City of Love." While walking along the town's defensive walls, feel phenomenal views along the Alazani River Valley. Spend your afternoon at a local winery, which will take you through a wine tasting session, talking to you about Georgia's ancient winemaking traditions that date back 8,000 years. Then enjoy dinner at a restaurant or wine estate, sampling the regional specialties.

Discover some of the region's notable vineyards and wineries. Ancient and the most important religion in Georgia, Alaverdi Monastery does not miss some wine-tasting in one of Georgia's vineyards. Famous wineries on your list will be Tsinandali and Shumi Winery, where you have to test the best of Georgian wines - red Saperavi, among others. Afternoon time brings a visit to Telavi, the regional capital. From there, you can visit the Batonis Tsikhe Fortress and stroll leisurely around this town. The region is also famous for traditional food, so be sure to try Khachapuri - cheese-filled bread - and Satsivi - chicken in walnut sauce - at a local farm or restaurant. In the evening, enjoy a peaceful dinner at a winery or a local guesthouse.
Make your way south to the majestic cave city of Vardzia, an incredible cave and monastery complex carved into the cliffs of Erusheti Mountain. Vardzia was created in the 12th century and once sheltered thousands of monks. Drive through the site and find ancient dwellings, churches, and tunnels that demonstrate so much brilliant genius on the part of this incredible historical place. From there, drive back to Tbilisi with quite a few stops: remote villages and stunning landscapes. You'll return to the capital in the evening, have a farewell dinner at one of Georgia's best restaurants with wine, toasts, and a memorable end to your Georgian adventure.

On your last day, you can spend the morning of your departure easy and relaxed. You could visit the Dry Bridge Market to get some souvenirs or take one final romantic stroll through the Old Town's lovely streets. You then proceed to Tbilisi International Airport in preparation for your trip back home.
