You'll be taken to the hotel in the capital city of Georgia - Tbilisi for check-in after your journey. Upon getting some rest you can start your city tour by walking around the Old Town. Take a moment to visit the Narikala Fortress for great views of Tbilisi and also check out the adjacent Sulfur Baths. Enjoy a cozy evening over dinner in one of Tbilisi's atmospheric restaurants, tasting and enjoying local specialties like Khachapuri-cheese-filled bread-and Khinkali-dumplings, topped by Georgian wine for a welcome toast.

Spend the second day discovering the heart of Tbilisi. Begin with the colossal Orthodox church, Holy Trinity Cathedral, Sameba-the largest in the world-follow along the central thoroughfare in Tbilisi, Rustaveli Avenue, and you will also visit Freedom Square as well as Georgian National Museum, where you'll see ancient artifacts and artworks. Lunch at a traditional café or restaurant, to show you the local flavors. In the afternoon, ride the Tbilisi Funicular up to Mtatsminda Park and enjoy the views of the city; dine leisurely at a quaint Old Town restaurant.

Leave Tbilisi today and visit two of the most important historical sites in Georgia. Stop one is Mtskheta, an ancient town, only 20 minutes from Tbilisi, that until the 5th century was the capital of Georgia. A must-see are the views at Jvari Monastery and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, a treasure house in which the cloak of Christ is kept. In the afternoon you can drive to Uplistsikhe, a rock-hewn ancient town with caves, temples and tunnels dating from the 6th century BC. Return to Tbilisi in the evening and spend your free time relaxing after a day full of discoveries.

Continue on Day 4 along the hilly road towards the town of Kazbegi, also known as Stepantsminda, in the heart of the Great Caucasus. The road unfolds beautiful views of the mountain landscapes, where you can make a stop at Ananuri Fortress, located by the Zhinvali Reservoir, when passing there. From Kazbegi, you will climb up to the beautiful Gergeti Trinity Church at an altitude of 2,170 meters with breathtaking views of Mount Kazbegi. Returning afterwards, relax amidst breathtaking mountain landscapes following a leisurely hike or exploration and enjoy a hearty dinner of Georgian cuisine at your guesthouse.

Over breakfast in Kazbegi, you will move on to Gudauri, one of the Caucasus' most famous ski resorts, with amazing mountain views. In winter, you can engage in skiing or snowboarding; in other travel seasons, you will have time to catch your breath and admire stunning mountain vistas. Among the further places along the route are those to continue on to in Kakheti: the vast wine-growing region of Georgia. Stop in the charming town of Sighnaghi, also known as the "City of Love." Discover its old town and walk on cobblestone streets. You will proceed with a wine-tasting tour in the Kakheti region in the evening, when you'll taste Georgia's ancient wines, such as Saperavi and Rkatsiteli. Enjoy local specialties along with local wines.

We're on day three, focusing more on the region of Kakheti. Begin with a visit to the regional capital city of Telavi, then enjoy panoramic views of the vineyards from the Batonis Tsikhe Fortress. Take some time to visit other wineries or châteaux like Tsinandali Winery itself features impressive wine cellars where you can see the region's oldest wine cellars, and itself is said to have royal history; Shumi Winery. Late afternoon offers the possibility to visit some vineyards, learn about Georgia's ancient traditions of winemaking, and try some local specialties, such as Khachapuri, Satsivi, and Lobio, a traditional bean stew. Enjoy dinner in a winery or traditional Georgian restaurant.
Leave Kakheti in the morning heading south to explore Vardzia, this extraordinary cave city carved into the cliffs of Erusheti Mountain. Dating back to the 12th century, Vardzia was an important monastery and fortress in its time. Explore a maze of caves, churches, and tunnels carved into the cliffs of this lovely site, important in historic, spiritual terms, and giving one a sense of how Georgia lived during medieval times. After lunch at a local restaurant, you return to Tbilisi in the late afternoon. Once back, you can lay around and get ready for your final evening in the capital.

On day 8, take a short internal flight or drive to Batumi: this is a Black Sea-coast town, famous for its subtropical climate, picturesque beaches, and lively nightlife. On arrival, visit the Batumi Boulevard-a seaside promenade lined with gardens, cafes, and sculptures. Find time to visit the prestigious Botanical Garden of Batumi with a wonderful ensemble of flora species from different parts of the globe, and enjoy an evening walk in the beautiful Old Town. Free time at sunset can be spent on the Black Sea coast, watching the breathtaking views from the seafront, along with fresh seafood at one of the restaurants lining the beaches.

Spend your last day relaxing in Batumi before departure. Have a casual breakfast by the Black Sea; if you go there in warmer months, take a swim in the ocean.
